Supported by Somerston Capital, its London based strategic acquisition, asset management and advisory arm, the Group has undertaken the development of several million square feet of office, retail, primary healthcare and hotel property in the United Kingdom and the Channel Islands.
Somerston developed, acquired and operated a portfolio of 33 hotels across the UK under the Holiday Inn Express and Hampton by Hilton franchises. In late 2014, Lone Star acquired Somerston Hotels, combining it with their own UK limited service hotel assets and rebranding the enlarged portfolio as Atlas Hotels. Somerston continues to provide strategic asset management advice in relation to the Atlas Hotels portfolio, which now extends to 48 hotels with 5,725 beds. In addition, Somerston continues to develop, own and operate its own portfolio of UK hotel assets.
Somerston Health specialises in complex mixed use sites, cooperating with a range of strategic partners to integrate modern purpose built healthcare infrastructure within local communities. Somerston is also active in the listed medical property sector having developed and acquired 22 primary care doctors’ surgeries which formed the basis for the creation of a £500m gross asset value company listed on the London Stock Exchange.
